January 11-13, 2008 in Orlando, Florida

Tournament Results

The January tournament will have the Breakers on a short trip to Orlando .  We will play at the United Skate of America.  This rink makes our local rink look like a palace.

The first game will be against the Ms Conduct on Friday night.  It will be a short trip to the rink this time.

Nancy Postma #4 will score first for the weekend in the first period of the first game assisted by Janka Murdzova #27.  The second goal will come from Suanne Marks #8 in the first period as well assisted by Carrie Bond #82.  But Carrie wants a goal and not an assist so she will take the pass from Steph Jordan #99 and take the third goal in the first period.  The clock is running down and Lindsay Drake #6 gets a break, she shoots she scores and now the clock reads zero to 4.

The game continues and the clock is running down – but wait Nikole Furlong #10 will get the chance and off she goes to get her goal before the second period will end at the sound of the horn.

The third period is running and Cindy Meeker #7 will sent up the pass, it’s over to Lindsay Drake #6 and then to Nancy Postma #4 to score.  Final score is 6 to zero.

It’s time to relax and sleep in make it down to breakfast before the Saturday games begin.  The second game for the tournament will match the Breakers against the Lucky Pucks.

The Breakers strike first with a goal from Nikole Furlong #10 all alone.  The Lucky Pucks strike back with 3 in a row.  But Lindsay Drake #6 makes a move with a pass from Janka Murdzova #27 and now we are only down by one.  Before the period ends we will tie it up, Cindy Meeker #7 gets a pass from Carrie Bond #82 and now it’s even as the period ends.

The Lucky Pucks are ready to score and they take the lead but Lindsay Drake #6 will score one more.  The second period ends at 6 to 4.

The third period will finish and no one will score.

The third game begins and we will meet the Lucky Pucks once more.  The first and second period will end and none of the Breaker pucks went in.  As the third period is ticking our defense makes a move, it’s a pass from Maureen Fredericks #20 to Cindy Meeker #7 and the Lucky Pucks goalie will not get a shut out after all.

The team will watch football with pizza and beer; we have one of players on her way here.  She had to work and missed a few games but she brings fresh legs to the tournament end.

Our last match up will be with the Ms Conduct.  Lindsay Drake #6 will get a break out and off she goes, she shots, she scores.

Then Janka Murdzova #27 sends up the pass Nancy Postma #4 will make the score 2 to 0.

The second period is clicking and so is Lindsay Drake #6, this will be her second goal in the game with no assist.

The fourth goal will be scored by the mystery duo of #14 and #2.  So if someone can claim them I will make the change.

The second period is ending and Amy Pierce #17 hands off the pass Suzanne Marks #8 will give it a blast.

The third period ends and the score will stand the Breakers over the Ms Conduct 5 to none.

The Breakers will take second place for the weekend!  But it’s still the gold the Breakers are wanting to hold.
